Constantine Polychronopoulos is currently Vice President and CTO of Telco NFV Group at VMware. Prior to that he was responsible for Service Provider Platforms, at Citrix Systems. In 2000 he founded Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in wireless network optimization and wireless data services for mobile operators, where he served as CTO and was responsible for product strategy, R&D, and corporate strategy. Before that, he was a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Polychronopoulos holds 10 patents and has published more than 140 research papers on parallel and multithreading computer architectures and compilers, distributed and cloud computing, wireless networks, and mobile computing.
He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois in 1986, his MS from Vanderbilt University in 1982, and his BS from the National University of Athens in 1980
